SNOW - School Closed

Both campuses are closed, today, because of snow and ice. Have a fun day and be safe. We are NOT closed, Monday, February 28.

The Children's Hour Academy will open at 10:00 am at both campuses. We look forward to seeing everyone. Weather Advisory still warns of another storm. If the weather turns, we will call you in advance to allow safe travel. Thank you.

Helpful Hints For School Closures

A few helpful reminders for inclement weather closures

For The Children's Hour Academy…

• We use the Lake Oswego School District as a "guideline" when we make our decision to open or close. Please be assured that our decision to close is not taken lightly and is made with a great deal of consideration for both staff and families.
• We will update the messages at both locations by 7:30 p.m. each evening. In the event we do not make a decision until the following morning we will change the messages by 5:30 a.m.
• We also have a blog that we update with current closure information. It has valuable information regarding activities happening at CHA. The blog is http://www.chaconnection.blogspot.com/. You can sign up for email updates, located on the right hand column that will automatically update you each time there is change to the blog.
• The news channels websites list us in their closures. If you log into http://www.kgw.com/, their website appears to be the easiest to navigate and read. We are listed under 'Private & Charter Schools - Portland area'.
• We belong to the same service that the public schools use to announce closures. You can find us listed under the running banner on all the local news stations.

Thank you for your patience over the last few crazy weather days and what appears may be on the horizon for future weather as well.

CHA - Thursday, December 18.

We will not make a decision regarding school closure or delayed start time for Thursday, December 18th until 5:30am Thursday morning. This will allow us time to assess road conditions and current weather.

Please call the schools' answering machine for a decision after 5:30 am, tomorrow morning. We will update our blog with current information. Thank for your understanding.

School Closure

The decision has been made to close The Children's Hour Academy on Wednesday, December 17, due to continuing frozen conditions and the likelihood that additional snow and/or freezing rain will arrive Wednesday morning. Many of our staff live in outlying areas and cannot safely make it to work because of compacted ice and closed roads. Please be assured that our decision to close is not taken lightly and is made with a great deal of consideration for both staff and families. We will continue to keep you updated for Thursday. Just a reminder, we follow Lake Oswego School District's as a guideline for inclement weather closures.
