Friday Newsflash April 30, 2010

1. No Early Closure Today: Although the calendar states we will be closed to help set up for the auction, we will NOT be closing early today! Parent volunteers thought that the child-care might be helpful so they can roll up their sleeves without their little ones underfoot! Thanks, Parents! If you are interested in helping, CHAF still is happily accepting volunteers! If interested, please contact CHAF President amandaw@me.com.

2. Exciting Meridian Campus Location News: Construction improvements on our new Meridian Campus location is scheduled to start Thursday of next week! The site is a previously existing school, but we have minor remodeling we would like to do to bring it up to The Children’s Hour Academy’s high standards! Look for more communication regarding the new site direct from Ms. Patty next week!

3. May 1st CHAF Auction, 5:30pm at Meridian Campus: Yeah, the auction weekend is finally here! Please come and socialize with your fellow families! Enjoy good fellowship while bidding on some FABULOUS items including a week in Mexico, a beach getaway, restaurant certificates, massages, a beautiful custom-made pot, and of course, our kids’ wonderful class art projects!! Just a reminder, the CHAF Auction is an adults only event, so make a night of it! You still may purchase event tickets today after school or tomorrow at the door. ($25/individual and $50/couple and ALL donations are tax-deductible as CHAF is a not-for-profit organization!) Enter to win the $5,000 tuition credit by purchasing raffle tickets (1 for $20, 6 for $100 or 13 for $200 and you need NOT be present to win!). If you are unable to attend, but would like to bid on an item, please fill out an absentee bid sheet and turn it in to Michelle.

4. 10% Tuition Discount for Pre-payment: Don’t forget you can earn a discount on tuition if you pay in advance!! A pre-payment for 10 or 12 months receives a 10% discount and a pre-payment of 6 months is 5 % discount. That’s a better return rate for your money than most investments these days!! 9. Last Chance for Lost and Found: Please check the very large assortment of clothes in the Meridian Campus Lobby for your child’s misplaced items. We will be donating all clothes left at the end of next week to a worthwhile charity. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

10. German Update: This week we reviewed many of our German songs by watching videos of them and singing along! The kids had lots of fun and wanted to know the internet sites. I have attached the links; however, please monitor the viewing as many of the associated videos on YouTUBE are NOT APPROPRIATE for children e.g. another video of Alle, meine Entchen has a swear word. Please ONLY view the video which I linked. In addition, the older kids are enjoying working with spelling and numbers on the computer. I have attached multiple SAFE sites from which all kids can use and enjoy. Viel Spass! (Have fun!)

11. Student Health: PLEASE remind your child to wash their hands before going into their classrooms. We have quite a few sniffles these days and would like to keep everyone healthy! Thanks for following the routine!
