Friday Newsflash

June 25, 2010

I. Fourth of July BBQ, Friday 7/2 at 5pm: Hard to believe that the Fourth of July is right around the corner! Please mark your calendars for our annual CHA BBQ to celebrate Independence Day! All families at both campuses are welcome and festivities will begin at 5pm at the Meridian Campus. We will provide hamburgers, hot dogs, and lemonade and staff will bring desserts. We ask parents to bring a side dish or salad. Please join us in this fun CHA community event!

II. Closed on Monday, 7/5/10: We will be CLOSED at both campuses for the Independence Day Holiday!

III. Jean Road Volunteers Needed: Due to parental feedback, we have decided to change our Jean Road Work Party to a couple of late afternoons. PLEASE e-mail Patty regarding your preferred dates and together we can make the children’s playground really something special! We desperately need parents to clean, organize, repair, build and setup our kiddos’ playground. Muscles, tools and bodies appreciated! This is a great time to earn volunteer hours and meet fellow parents! Please let us know if you have a special skill as a carpenter, repairperson, or all around tool guy!

IV. Wacky Wednesday: As part of our summer science curriculum at Meridian Campus, every Wednesday will be “Wacky Wednesday.” We will offer a fun, unusual themed event to correlate with our curriculum for the week. Next week is Nutrition Week so we will offer a “Taste Buds Tingle Tasting!” If your child would like to participate, please bring something salty, sweet, sour, and bitter. We will explore different tastes and see which ones we like the best! Questions? Please ask your child’s teacher. Thanks!

V. Menu for the Week of June 28th:
• Monday: Macaroni and Cheese, Green Beans, and Pears
• Tuesday: Chicken Burgers, French Fries, and Applesauce
• Wednesday: Broccoli Cheese Soup, Tortilla Chips, and Peaches
• Thursday: Lasagna, Salad, and Mandarin Oranges
