Feb. 2, 2009
Dear Parents,
I have decided to begin my maternity leave on Mar. 1st. As some of you may have heard, I have been given 30 days notice on my apartment (they are remodeling) and must be out by the 28th of February. I am also going to move Emma to the school by the apartments that we are moving into because I just don’t think I can do the commute over here every day with a newborn. With these two things and of course needing to get ready for Elijah, I think this is a good time for me to begin my maternity leave. It will (hopefully) enable me to get our apartment set up and Emma situated in the school before having the baby. My plan is to come back to school around the time we transition the children to new classes and teachers in June. Classes and teachers haven’t been decided yet, but I am sure that planning will begin soon. The kids in here will either go to transitional kindergarten (for part time students or those who aren’t quite ready for the rigorous program of Pre-K) or preparatory kindergarten. I do not know who will teach what or what I’ll be teaching as of yet.
I have to admit, I am very sad to turn them over to someone else, but I know that they will have a great time and learn so much with Jessy. I do consider each one of them “my babies” and will always treasure the time we’ve spent together. They have all grown in so many ways and I’ve enjoyed being a part of each of their lives. I have enjoyed becoming friends with all of you and will miss all of you dearly. I will definitely be around during my maternity leave, bringing Emma by to see her friends, participating in CHA activities and showing off Elijah J (of course!) You are always welcome to email me at home (benemma1802@gmail.com) and many of you I see on Facebook as well. I will be checking in with Jessy a lot to see how the kids are doing and I’ll probably email you guys as well, just to check on them.
As long as Elijah decides to stay put, my last day will be Feb. 27th. I’d love to have a farewell party with all of you and the kids so we can all say goodbye, so keep around 3:15 on that Friday open if you can. Hopefully we can work out the details soon! Again, I thank you with all my heart for all your trust, support and understanding. I will miss you and your children very much! Take care and I promise the kids will do great! Jessy is a lot of fun and brings in lots of enthusiasm and experience with them.
Love,
Krista
