Journal Writings from Ms. Sally Jo's Class

Every morning after Circle Time my students write in their journals. I write the journal topic on the board and then we have a little class discussion about what we could write. I try not to pass on my ideas to them in order to get the most genuine ideas from my students, but I will help generate ideas if they get stuck. The discussion helps them brainstorm new ideas by bouncing ideas off of each other. Then they start writing. Here are some of our Journal writings this week.

MONDAY
If I could fly...

Dane
If I could fly I would help people. I would fly over Brock.
I would fly right next to a jet. I would fight bad guys.

Christiaan
If I could fly I would be called Lontrono. I would fly over the world!
I could fly over the Eiffel Tower. I would fly over Bella!

Bella
If I could fly I would be a Superhero. I would fly above Dane.
I would fly over the Eiffel Tower. I would fly over Christiaan.

Brock
I would fly through the ice cream shop. I would fly through the
coffee shop and grab a cappuccino.
I would fly and be Superman. I would fly faster than an airplane.

THURSDAY
If I were and adult...

Bella
If I were an adult I would do whatever I want. I would have children. I would be married in Mexico like my Mommy. I would go on a honeymoon and it would be to Hawaii.

Christiaan
If I were an adult I would eat ice cream all day. I would drive a car. I would eat all day. I would be married.

Brock
If I were and adult I would eat anything I want, but I would have to go to the dentist. I would stay up late. I would have a job. I would have a black Lab. I would be...

FRIDAY
If I lived in New York...

Brock
If I lived in New York I would see the ball fall. I would see the Statue of Liberty. I would be happy. I would be with my family. I love New York!
